I have gotten really bad about not picking up my cameras, so I'm participating in a 52 week challenge, called a "Pick Me Up Challenge". Once a week for the next year, I will pick up my camera and take a picture. Other people post the topic and I interpret and photograph something that symbolizes the topic. This week's topic was "the future".
My future holds me living with purpose and in good health. It's not about numbers, it's not about sexiness, it's not about confidence....it's about being alive. Alive as in having a heartbeat, and alive is in living with passion and energy. I have genuine stumbling blocks that interfer with weight control, but it's not an excuse it just means I have to try harder, and I am.
My Christmas present this year was another elliptical machine. It's my 3rd! I ride them hard, and my cheap models have not lasted long so this year we bit the bullet and invested in a good quality machine. I love it because I can do it at 5 am and not take away any time from Ben. The mommy guilt of working all day, then going to the gym and using an hour or two of our precious time together was too much. But getting my workout in early when my boys are sleeping gives me time to myself, and keeps me with them "every waking minute".
I have Zune, which is the Microsoft MP3 player and she keeps me going. I have a great playlist made for when working outI can't do it without music! My favorite songs for working out are Eminem "Till I Collapse", and MIchael Jackson "Don't Stop". I also love "Blessed" by Martine McBride for my warm up and "Proud" -the theme song for Biggest Loser by Heather Small. I'm always looking for new songs to add to my "Work It Girl" playlist so tell me what you like to work out to :)

Sorry Tracy, can't help you. I either play basketball (which means I have to listen to the loud rap the younger guys blast at the court) or walk the dogs, which is when I catch up on my podcasts.
I'm also a 5 a.m. riser. Having the house to yourself for a couple hours is a great way to start the day.

some songs that really just get me in the mood and make me walk a little faster and push it a little harder are..."...its the eye of the tiger..", "...shes a brick house...", "...ice ice baby...", "....push it real good...", and "...pour some sugar on me.."!! I'm old school!ha! Oh, I like Britney's, "....I'm a slave for you.." and Beyonce's "...all you single ladies..."

K.. you're probably going to think I'm crazy, but I have to listen to the sound track of Mortal Combat... It's not just that it has a fast paced bouncy rhythm, it's more about getting my mood revved up to fight. Fighting my desire to stop because I'm tired, fighting the urge to go down a coke and some sort of pastry when I'm done, fighting to stay healthy and with my family as long as this old body holds out.
